Hi, I'm Jeanine. Here's My Story...
When my mother passed away seven years ago, it shattered my world.
Suddenly, I was an orphan—no more phone calls where she was excited to hear my voice, no more of her saying "damn!" when life threw me a curveball and making me laugh about it. And the grief was just the beginning of my journey.
What followed was a cascade of challenges: worsening depression, new chronic illnesses, a grueling five-year wait for disability, homelessness, and financial uncertainty.
Each struggle was like a test of my survival. I was desperate to hold onto something—anything—that could keep me whole.
My spiritual path became my lifeline, but not in the way I initially thought. I had been trying to be the "perfect" healer, believing that that meant suppressing negative emotions and forcing positivity. I wanted wholeness to mean not feeling pain.
But my real healing began when I stopped trying to be perfect and started welcoming my entire human experience. A work in progress, to be sure.
I'm learning that self-tending isn't about eliminating pain—it's about sitting with it, and holding it gently. My sensitivity, which I once saw as a weakness, is becoming my greatest strength.
Those overwhelming feelings? They actually helped me understand myself in a whole different way.
Through spiritual mentors and my own journey, I discovered a radical approach to healing: cozy, sacred rituals and practices that gently tend my struggles and nurture my light. I am learning to surrender, not as a defeat, but as a deep act of self-love.
My life is now about creating moments of joy, even when things are tough.
I've learned to build my own comfort apothecary—daily rituals that sustain me, techniques that ground me, gentle practices that remind me of my own resilience.
My life still isn't linear or perfect. But every day, I choose joy. I choose gentleness. I choose myself.
And I'm here to show other sensitive healers that they can do the same.
