You Must Live a Life of Radical Self-Love & Here's How to Do it.

Last week, I wrote a post where I shared some intuitive prompts that could be used in a self-love reading. Basically, asking your own intuition how to love yourself more right now.

And this week, I read the transcript for a podcast episode about radical self-love.

The author is Kara Loewentheil and she comes to the topic from a feminist perspective, saying that radical self-love is a political act of refusal, for anyone steeped in cultural oppression. Her point of view is that being marginalized teaches you not to love yourself and to put your own needs last on your to-do list.

I highly recommend this episode, and I want to talk more about radical self-love today.

The more marginalized identities you live in or with, the more ways you’re told that you’re not good enough. So if you are Black or Indigenous or a person of color, if you are fat, if you live with a disability or a chronic illness, if you’re neurodivergent, if you’re LGBTQ+, if you’re a “minority” religion, if you’re poor, and there’s many other aspects.

I am in so many of these marginalized communities she named! How about you?

Oppressive Ideology is Insidious: You're Living it but Don't Know it


If someone asked you, do you believe that you re inherently less worthy of good things or a good life than other people are, you would probably say no. But if you belong to a marginalized community, like I do, odds are you are living like you do believe that and you probably don't even know it.

Think about the situations and the relationships you are putting up with right now. 

One of the biggest arguments for wholeheartedly pursuing radical self-love is that what you  experience on the outside is always going to be a mirror of the love you have for yourself inside.

If life is mistreating you, and you have a hidden belief that that's what you deserve, not only will you put up with it, you'll mistreat yourself, too.

But if you begin to treat yourself a lot more kindly, and offer yourself more compassion and acceptance, you won't settle for less from others.

What if You Could Start Treating Yourself with Reverence?

So imagine for a moment that most of the time, you treated yourself with reverence and radical self-love.

Google suggests that you would begin to regard yourself with wonder and appreciation because of who you are, accepting your flaws with compassion and valuing yourself deeply in spite of them. You'd take better care of yourself each day and challenge your negative self-talk by saying things to yourself that are kinder and more loving.

You would spend more time with yourself, thinking about what you value and identifying your boundaries.

A couple of the other links offered suggested treating yourself the way you would treat someone you admired and adored.

Know Your Own Value


When you don't know your own value, you will expend a lot of energy trying to get others to see it. Defending it. And if you don't love yourself, you'll do back flips to get people to love you, because you can't imagine they'd love you just because of who you are.

​If that's where you are right now, and if you are recognizing yourself in this post, know that you can change the way you think and feel about yourself.

The first step is to realize that without knowing it or meaning to, you have internalized societal messages about who you are and what you deserve. What that means is that there is a lot of thinking and feeling inside you that is not based on the truth.

The next step is to take this truth on faith until you can believe it for yourself: there are subtle accusations floating around out there, and inside, and you are innocent of every charge. You are lovable and good and you deserve to be honored and respected, no matter what.

The third step is to commit to treating yourself as if what you just read is true, starting today. Be willing to live in the in-between stage where you don't quite believe it, but you're going to act like you do. Not faking it until you make it, but trusting it until you come to know the truth of it in your soul.

This is my pledge, too. I am on the same journey.

Self-Love Day Intuitive Reading

Yesterday was a long, draining day full of stress and some drama. So I didn't get to do the self-love reading that would have been perfect for Valentine's Day.

But today, I'm having a wonderful day. Lovely cup of vanilla tea, a candle that smells like cinnamon rolls and a view of the tree outside my window.

So here we go. I'll be using the Ostara deck from the Seasons of a Witch series. And the suggested self-love spread from Sisters Enchanted that came in my email from them yesterday.

​Here's the reading, using the questions and spread above...

(1) What Does My Heart need from Me Most Right Now?

Aries: You are being called to step into the flame with an ignited vision of your desires. Time is of the essence.

Based on the keywords for this card, I'd say that my heart longs for me to step fearlessly into an initiation into my new life.

I moved recently, and have pretty high hopes for what is possible here. On the other hand, those possibilities will ask me to completely let go of the old patterns and beliefs, and exchange them for a fearless belief in what I can do with these chances I've been given.

What do you wish to release or reclaim, this card asks.

It also warns me not to lose my nerve as I set intentions and then, get going to make those dreams come true.

THE INTENTIONS I SET, INSPIRED BY THIS CARD

Every day, recommit to believing in my own magic and to finding ways to connect to it each day.

Commit to my desire to help sensitive healers connect & reconnect to the energies of the higher timeline, doing so gently and from a place of comfort.

Reach for comfort, joy and peace in my own life, every single day.

This is my self-love, honring my heart's call.

(2) How Can I Best Show Myself Compassion at this Moment?

Eostre: In the darkest of hours when all seems to be lost comes the magic of light.

I go through a difficult time each year, related to the lack of sunlight in winter, but also to the influx of pollen in the spring. And surrendering to that time, accepting it, is so hard!

I think this card is about being as compassionate as I can whilst in the middle of it, and reminding myself that this too shall pass. It's also about finding ways to bring light into the darker moments, even if I can't get rid of the darkness completely.

Above all, this is your sign to keep with your current path.

That message encourages me, too, to keep going even if I get discouraged, and to hang on to my faith. I'm making a commitment today, to do so.

So self-love, for me, means compassion and determination to stay the course.

(3) Where am I Relying too Much on Others to Feel Loved?

Composting: It is through remembrance of the past that you can create a more purposeful future.

I think, in light of the card before, this card is about taking what I would normally think of as wasted time and find ways to turn it into blessings and opportunity.

What's coming to my mind right now is that when the rest of the world is springing into action, I can stay on the path, but continue to prioritize rest. And compassionate self-care.

Maybe I can actively plan for ways to experience more joy at home (avoiding the pollen). While still staying committed to my intentions.

Planning ahead for joy at home - that might be my best self-love strategy for spring.

(4) How Can I Best Incorporate a Self-Love Practice into My Day?

Sacred Circle: A dive into the depths of the unknown within beckons your becoming.

Ah-ha! This card is perfect for the question. It encourages you to do something different than you normally would, to do something new.

I think for me, this is about putting joyful plans in place to do as part of a daily ritual, but also, to make plans with friends.

My mind is buzzing with ideas right now and I'm about to go write them down. I'm excited!

Two Clarifying Cards


The two clarifying cards are Ancestral Lands and Aquamarine. I actually read these first because they are the deck's beginning cards.

I think in light of self-love and the deck's theme of new beginnings after a prolonged period of struggle, these cards are an encouragement to move forward in and with love, especially for myself.

Know where you've been and honor the past that got you where you are today, but be willing to let go of the patterns and limiting beliefs that are no longer serving you, so that you give yourself a full chance to become everything your blueprint intends you to be. And consider a cleansing ritual to help you release the old and open fully to the new.

What I love about these cards is that I did a brief ritual this morning with the intention of welcoming the new life and the blessings that are waiting for me. But I may also do a cleansing ritual.

Also, I have aquamarine on my crystal wish list and this seems like a sign to buy it first, as soon as I get the chance.

Living in Higher Frequencies: Daily Rituals for Healing & Letting Go

In yesterday's post, I shared a video from Kerry K. that laid out what we can expect this year, spiritually and energetically. I wrote about what our response should be. And here's another of her videos that shares what the rest of our year may look and feel like.

But I wanted to address the wisdom from both in the way I normally would - what then, about our lifestyle and daily rituals? How can we create a lifestyle that supports our ability to stay connected to higher frequencies and to the higher timeline, in general?

​Are you also feeling the pull to align with the higher timeline, stepping into deeper healing, while moving away from the fear-based manipulations we are likely to encounter? We can do it, and build a lifestyle around it.

Every moment we spend in connection with our true self, in higher frequencies of love, peace, and clarity, we ripple that energy outward—which weakens the false matrix and strengthens the world we want to create. But how do we sustain this way of being in the face of daily disruptions, fear narratives, and emotional triggers?

​If we can create a lifestyle that grounds us in our divinity and a daily ritual that helps us acknowledge, process, and release lower-frequency reactions, we can stay connected to the higher timeline and become the shift we want to see.


The Higher Frequency Lifestyle


Here is what I believe this lifestyle needs to include...

​(1) Awareness of Our Emotional Responses – Accepting and acknowledging our emotions without suppressing them or being consumed by them.

(2) Intentional Grounding – Centering ourselves in safety, presence, and connection to our truth.

(3) Connecting to Our Divinity  – Remembering that we are sovereign beings and do not have to be persuaded by fear-based narratives.

(4) Nurturing Practices – Actively soothing and comforting ourselves, especially when we have been triggered by those manipulations.

(5) Energy Clearing and Renewal – Letting go of what does not serve us and reconnecting with high-vibrational energy.

Here's What this Means in Everyday Life


​Acknowledging & Accepting Emotional Reactions

Rather than resisting or denying difficult feelings, begin by allowing them space to be seen.

For example, if something triggers fear, anger, or sadness, pause and say internally: I feel [emotion] right now, and that’s okay.

Suppressing your feelings or trying to talk yourself out of them won't do any good. Resistance isn't the way. Just allow and accept them.

Grounding Yourself & Returning to Center

Once the emotion is acknowledged, consciously bring yourself back to center. You can do this with deep breathing, a simple mantra (I am safe. I am sovereign. I am in my highest truth.), or placing a hand on your heart and focusing on your body.

Reaffirm Your Connection to Divinity & Truth

Remind yourself: The ultimate truth is love. I choose not to feed fear. I am here to embody the higher timeline.

These affirmations acts as a redirect, shifting your focus from reaction to intention.

Soothing and Comforting Yourself

Engage in a small act of self-care that helps your nervous system settle. This could be drinking warm tea, holding a weighted blanket, listening to calming music, or stepping outside for fresh air.

Energy Clearing and Renewal

After moving through the feelings and reclaiming your truth, release any lingering energy that doesn’t serve you.

​You could do that with visualization (imagining light washing over you), physical movement (shaking out tension, stretching, or dancing), or spiritual cleansing (burning sage, using crystals, or taking a salt bath).


Daily Rituals for Your Higher Frequency Lifestyle


​Here are simple, daily practices you can use each day to stay connected to the truth of who you are and to the higher timeline being created this year.

(1) The Morning Ritual


Begin the day with grounding: deep breaths, a hand on your heart, and an affirmation: I choose the higher timeline today.

Set an intention for your energy: I radiate love, peace, and clarity.

Move your body gently (stretching, yoga, or walking) to open up energy flow.

(2) Your Midday Check-In

Pause and check in on what you're feeling or what may have come up for you during the morning.

Acknowledge anything that needs to be released.


If you're feeling off-center, use a short grounding technique: breathwork, an affirmation, or stepping outside to breathe in fresh air.

(3) Your Evening Wind-Down

Reflect on your day, looking both for moments to celebrate and ones that need to be released. What felt aligned with what you know to be true? Where might you have reacted or been triggered?

Engage in a soothing practice (tea, journaling, music, or quiet meditation).

Clear your energy before sleep through a visualization or simple gratitude practice.

​By committing to these daily rituals, we'll build a life where we are constantly choosing higher frequencies over triggered reactions. The more we can choose and embody peace, love, and sovereignty, the more we share these energies with the collective, helping them in their own awakening and healing.

As lightworkers, our presence alone can shift the energy around us. Let’s commit to this practice—not just for ourselves, but for the world we are co-creating.

How to Connect to the 2025 Higher Timeline

Given everything that's going on in the world, does it surprise you to think of 2025 as the year of the higher timeline? I can see why it would!

​In Kerry's video, she shares that darkness may have intended a year that would be low and dense and heavy, but instead, we can participate in a higher frequency, available now.

Healer, Heal Thyself


In my opinion, this is the most important message in the video: every time we heal, or even take a step toward healing, we send a wave of higher frequency and healing that adds to the higher timeline and benefits the lightworker collective.

So not only can we choose the higher timeline, we can add to it.

Just by allowing ourselves to heal. Even when the healing we experience is small, incomplete or imperfect.

A Deeper Experience of Yourself as Spirit & Energy


This year, we are likely to lose our love for material things. 

It will happen gradually. And we may experience it as a lack of joie de vivre, or a lack of motivation.

But at the same time, we will connect more deeply with ourselves in spirit. We will know what else and where else we are in a deeper way.

And the meaning of life, or the things we once thought were so important, will shift. It may not feel good, because it will be unfamiliar, but it's part of the process of experiencing the higher timeline.

Cozy, Comfort-Centered Rituals:
Your Daily Spiritual Practice is More Important than Ever


Every day, take time to feel into who you are being called to become, and what you are being called to let go of or heal. Use my letting go ritual to do so with gentleness and comfort.

The truth is, you already are this new version of yourself, but you'll need to use stillness and presence to connect to her. The same is true of your healing and wholeness - that you already exists, but you will still need to let go of the old story about who you are so you can step into the new one.

Discernment is Needed

​We've been conditioned to trust authority outside ourselves. 

Instead, practice connecting with your own inner truth and knowing yourself better, so your trust is internal, not external. When you are grounded in trusting yourself, it will be much harder to be manipulated or misled.

And staying centered and aligned with your own truth is going to be the best way to stay connected to the higher timeline.

But what about the things that are truly important, real and also, terrible?

Instead of moving in the direction of outrage and resistance, focus instead on becoming, and thus, emitting the opposite.

Instead of outrage about war, be peace. Instead of outrage about white supremacy (that's a personal encouragement, because I am easily triggered there). become and embody the energy of welcome and acceptance and inclusion.

When you get trapped in outrage and resistance, you actually add fuel to the fire. Meaning, you add  energetic support and fuel for the thing you don't want.

​Far more powerful, is to shift your focus to the change you do want and become that energy. You can count on emitting it and thus, will support the change you want to experience.

Happy Groundhog Day: Did You See Your Shadow?

The shadow is the part of yourself you were programmed to create to survive childhood and a lifetime in the false matrix, and then, conditioned to reject as unacceptable and pretend isn't there. But it's not who you really are. Use your light (your higher self, your divinity) to uncover it and then begin to let it go.
