A Warm Farewell & a Parting Gift

4/30/2024

I'm reminded of a lyric from a Boys II Men song.

To paraphrase it, now that we've come to the end of the road, letting go of the Ultimate Blog Challenge (Spring edition) feels unnatural. Surely, we belong to each other by now. :)

Picture

But, First, an Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in a long, long, long, long time, I actually wrote, scheduled and published 30 POSTS!! Isn't that amazing?

Now, I wasn't able to post them all in the threads, because that would have meant reading and commenting on several posts and responding to comments, 30 days in a row. I quite frequently needed a spoonie break.

A spoonie is someone with a chronic illness, by the way, who receives a limited amount of spoons each day (energy) and cannot replace them if they run out. It's also usually a smaller set than most start the day with and pushing yourself can mean getting even more sick than usual.

But even though I didn't participate every day, I did publish a blog post every day! I am quite pleased with myself. :)

A Warm, Fond Farewell

I always get into such beautiful exchanges of thoughts, ideas, encouragement and support, that I'm reluctant to let that go when the challenge ends. I'm grateful, though, for the chance I get to practice articulating my point of view, and the time I spend connecting to my blogger friends more than we usually do.

What did you find most valuable about the challenge this month?

Your Parting Gift

Parting is such sweet sorrow. And there's also a gift.

I've decided that it's time for us to awaken (from winter hibernation) to more and deeper self-love. Toward that end, I've got a guided self-love meditation, no opt-in needed, just click on the link.

In my intro, I explain that I believe that the game we've been playing was rigged, and that that calls for even more self-love. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

Want to Stay Connected?

Tell me in a comment what you've got planned for next month's blog posts.

I'm hoping to start May off with a bang, and I've got guest posts from fellow blogger, Brenda Fluharty, a series next month called Mindful May, and more, beginning tomorrow. If you're going to be blogging, too, I'd love to support you.

What about you?

See you guys for the summer edition!

5 Ways to Create a Daily Mini Meditation Retreat

4/28/2024

Imagine a gentle, loving energy within you, Try to see its bright spark of light and feel its warmth in your heart. Imagine it expanding until it fills your heart, your body and your energy field. This light represents your divinity, your inner goddess. Take a moment to breathe in her love. Hold it in your heart space & savor it, then share it with the world as you exhale.

I created that little guided meditation for two reasons. One, to demonstrate how easy it can be to connect with your goddess self through meditation and visualization. And two, to show you that even a one-minute meditation can be powerful.

Picture

Using Meditation to Connect
to Your Divinity

As healers and lightworkers, connecting to your divine self is imperative. It's the foundation for your entire new earth mission and your ascension.

So let's look at easy ways to make sure you not only meditate every day but can make it feel like a retreat.

Now, with lots of practice, you will eventually be able to connect with just your intention to do so. And hopefully, stay connected.

But meanwhile, let's make connecting to your inner goddess as easy as we can.

5 Ways to Create a Daily
Mini Meditation Retreat

Create a routine that gives you a chance to slow down and relax for a while.

One: What to Plan for Your Daily Meditation Routine

Here are some steps that you can take to start your daily meditation routine...

(1) Find a quiet spot in your home where you won't be disturbed.

(2) Get comfortable enough to sit for at least for at least 5 minutes, and then work up to 15 or more.

Save the one-minute meditations for mindful moments throughout the day, but have a dedicated meditation time where you can spend more time in stillness.

(3) You can start your meditation practice with goddess breathing.

Close your eyes, and get comfy. Then take deep breaths in, breathing in your inner goddess, and when you breathe out through your mouth, release the goddess frequency to the world.

Repeat the process several times until you feel calm and at ease.

Two: Find an Ideal, Comfy Spot in Your Home

What do you want to have in your meditation space?

You could choose the floor, a roomy chair with comfy pillows, or you could sit on your bed with pillows behind you. You could light your favorite candle, play ocean sounds or music, or add other things that feel cozy.

You also could create an aromatherapy room spray or choose essential oils for your diffuser.

You might choose a crystal you want to hold in your hand while meditating, or create an altar with a crystal grid dedicated to spiritual connection.

What would make it special? What would make it feel like a retreat?

Picture

Three: Use Guided Meditations

Now, there's nothing wrong with simple sitting in stillness and doing your goddess breathing. You could place your hands on your heart and repeat an affirmation, feeling it reverberate beneath your hands.

But the promise of a guided meditation is that it might be easier to release your brain from its tireless service.

And a guided meditation can be worded in such a way that it helps you with exactly what you have in mind - connecting with your goddess self, or trusting that connection. Or letting go of the false self. Letting go of the past. Etc.

The Mindfulness Book & Six-Second Solutions

4/27/2024

Sacred Breathing is taken by inhaling and letting Spirit expand our consciousness, pausing for a moment to let it pool up and then letting the Spirit breath flow out into the world. - The Mindfulness Book

Do this by setting an intention to take a Spirit Breath, followed by taking a long, slow, deep breath with this intention in mind. The result will be an almost immediate shift in your state of mind and the way you feel.

Picture

The Mindfulness Book

This book is loaded with strategies for doing something I recommend all the time - pausing throughout the day, to make it more mindful or more sacred. I love, too, that you can try his suggestions immediately, as you read them.

Picture
Breathe me and be me. Fill my lungs with Spirit. - The Mindfulness Book

I might modify that last part to say something like, fill my lungs with the divine mother and my goddess self. So, see, you could personalize it and make it more meaningful.

By rhe way, imagine using this or other six-second techniques when you've just been triggered by someone you love. Or you're about to have a challenging conversation.

The spirit-filled breath you just took exhales into the room you're in, with the other person. Into the moment, whatever it is.

Peace, be still
Love, joy, peace
Healing
Compassion
Forgiveness

He suggests using words and phrases that we consider sacred, or that reflect our intention, what we want or need at the time, or want to give. Then, you could pause to see what your inner goddess might want to add to the moment.

Other Six-Second Solutions

There are so many other good ideas in this book that I'm thinking about getting a physical copy, so I can use sticky notes to bookmark the pages.

Picture

Another technique I liked from the book was the suggestion to use mantras once an hour to shift your consciousness. Examples...

the divine mother and I are one.
my sacred self and I are one.
I'm handing this over to Spirit.
I am divine presence
.
God is holding my hand right now.
I'm shifting this experience with my Spirit Breath.
I remember who I am now.
this (grocery store line, bumper-to-bumper traffic, full waiting room) is a sacred gathering.

Except for my parenthetical insertions, that last one was a direct quote. The others were inspired by him, but personalized and altered by me.

Another great suggestion was to use physical objects to remind us to connect spiritually or initiate a shift in consciousness. I carry a crystal (obsidian) in my pocket almost all the time, but hadn't thought to pair it with a specific intention.

A question he suggested for difficult experiences that might represent traumas we are repeating is, how can I let go of this pattern? He reassures us that eventually, the answer will come to us.

In many ways, these solutions are quick strategies for making any experience sacred, and for living a more sacred and mindful life, in general.

I loved almost everything about this book! I wish I'd written it myself. :)

It wasn't very expensive and will be worth whatever you pay for it. I highly recommend it!

Does it interest you?

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

What's Your Lightworker Role? Has it Changed?

4/26/2024

What lightworker role have you been playing and has it shifted?

I'm not talking here, about my quiz.

I have a divine archetype quiz that helps you identify an inner goddess archetype that feels most comfortable to you, and that you find yourself operating from as a healer and lightworker.

But these lightworker roles are more about the way we support each other. As Kerry K says, it's about the way we walk each other home.

Five months ago, she described the roles and suggested we identify which one we have been experiencing. And then, basically watch to see what happens because she was predicting that your role might shift.

And now, five months later, I've just watched it again and I think my role is shifting.

Watch the Lightworker Role Video

See if you can identify your lightworker role. If you're short on time, start watching about ten minutes in...

Did You Identify Your Lightworker Role & Has it Changed?

I think that my role is shifting from frontrunner to anchor.

Well, actually, I was first in the unconscious role and I think I dedicated a few decades to that one. If I could add an emoji to that declaration, it would be the upside down smiley face.

But about a year ago or so, I slipped into the frontrunner role with no awareness that such a thing existed.

I basically devoted about 70-80% of my time to healing ancestral, inner child, emotional, spiritual and relationship issues. And every time, my intention was to share/send that healing backwards, forwards, sideways, to the lightworker collective and out into the universe.

Brenda Fluharty, a master healer, writer and friend, was my partner in crime for quite a few of these missions, and it was wonderful to have her support and give her mine. You might remember my posting in my previous blog that we created a process that we used almost every time we were on the phone, healing together.

Well, my healing efforts paid off and things began to change, thank goodness. Although I don't think I left any stone unturned, some things are still a work in progress.

But in doing that work, I often felt connected to the big energetic circle of lightworkers everywhere. And I believe that that work is the essence of the frontrunner role.

Picture

But now, I believe I might be shifting into the anchor role.

In the past, she describes the anchor role as one that was grounded, that anchored light into the earth and offered grounded, peaceful support to other lightworkers, in an energetic sense. These people wonder what everyone is so upset about.

And it seems easier for them to trust that everything is going to be alright, both in their own lives and in a global sense.

Whew! That was definitely not me. It was my goal, and there were moments when it felt like I landed there, for a while. But I didn't live there.

I have depression and anxiety. And sometimes, it feels like they really have me. Especially the anxiety.

If I were to give them mantras (in my life) that were silent, but keenly felt, they would be "it's never going to work because nothing ever really does. I should just give up" and "oh my god, oh my god, I have to fix this right now!!"

So I still don't live there.

But when I am at my best, I do have this root chakra experience that feels grounded and trusting. Not only do I feel it physically, but I can sort of visualize it, hear it in my thoughts, feel it in my heart, etc. And I am beginning to know that that's where I'm headed.

And in the video, she says that the anchors will begin to discover previously untapped spiritual gifts, maybe in their voices, or in their hands. And they may have access to more wisdom than they have before. So I'm looking forward to seeing what that will be like, too.

Depression and Anxiety
Will not Stop Me

Another word about depression and anxiety...

I believe that helplessness and fear and something's wrong with me are programs wired into the framework of the false matrix.

So if they haven't touched you personally, it's a miracle.

But have a quick look to see if they are hiding, just in case. Then you can begin the work of dismissing the energetic debris of those programs.

I have not stopped experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. But they no longer seem insurmountable, and it no longer feels like they are the winners and I am the loser. Instead, I know I am sovereign.

So although navigating trust, sovereignty and safety are challenging with them as companions, that just makes me curious about how the anchor role will play out in my life. I'll keep you posted.

What Does Your Daily Ritual Need?

The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green Earth in the present moment, to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now. - Thich Nhat Hanh

Sacred, Simple Daily Rituals

Thich Nhat Hanh's wise quote suggests that the act of creating and following a daily ritual is like walking on sacred ground.

It's about being fully present in the moment, cherishing the simplicity of our daily actions. Whether it's a morning meditation, a routine walk in nature, or simply taking a few mindful breaths before starting our day, our daily rituals ground us, connecting us more deeply to ourselves, to nature and to the present moment.

What were your three words or phrases, and how would you fashion them into a ritual?

5 Myths about Awakening Your Inner Goddess

4/22/2024

Awakening your inner goddess is about finding your inner strength, grace, and empowerment, and connecting to your own divinity. But there are some misconceptions and myths I've seen  about the inner goddess and goddess self, so I'm writing this post to help clear them up.

Picture

The Inner Goddess Concept is all about Pampering & Pleasure

Many seem to believe that embracing your inner goddess is about pampering yourself and indulging in superficial pleasures. But the truth is, it's so much more profound and powerful than that.

Awakening your inner goddess is about self-discovery, empowerment, and connecting deeply with your true self. When you connect with your goddess self, there is nothing superficial about it.

Now I'm not saying that self-care rituals aren't a  part of the journey. Ideally, they become the vehicle for deepening your connection with your goddess self. And they serve the higher purpose of nurturing your soul.

That doesn't mean you can't pamper yourself, either. I'm all for it!

But that is not what embracing your inner goddess is about, and I don't want you to miss the deeper opportunity for connection with your divinity, because your attention is only focused on lavish pleasure.

Your inner goddess, your goddess self, is your divinity. It's the truest part of you. So we're talking about a spiritual pursuit and a spiritual connection, not a lighthearted spa experience.

You Have to Be a Perfect
Inner Goddess

We've been conditioned to expect and demand perfection from ourselves and each other. But it's a setup and it's destined to fail.

You have to let that go, especially when it comes to the relationship you're creating with your goddess self. Give yourself the freedom to play and experiment and see how it goes, without judging yourself.

In fact, you are on the right track when you accept yourself fully and love yourself, imperfections and all.

Picture

Your Inner Goddess is Only
Feminine Energy

Connecting with your inner goddess does mean embracing your divine feminine energy.

But it also will create balance between the feminine and masculine energies you carry. It will harmonize them within you.

It's Selfish to Focus on Connecting with Your Inner Goddess

This is a limiting belief that often comes to us from others. When we honor ourselves, prioritize self-care and set healthy boundaries, others may view us as selfish. But don't believe them.

Connecting with your inner goddess will help you develop healthy self-love and self-care practices. It will lead to being more authentic and to living a deeper connection with your divinity.

Shifting in those ways honors your mission, but it is not selfish in any way.

Picture

Awakening Your Inner Goddess
Requires Complex Rituals

Awakening your inner goddess does not require elaborate rituals or ceremonies.

Your inner goddess practice can be as simple as meditating for a few minutes a day, listening to your intuition, practicing gratitude, or creating moments of joy in your everyday life. The core of your practice is connecting with your authentic self and nurturing yourself with kindness and love.

So hopefully, I've dispelled the myths that could really get in your way as you awaken your inner goddess. Are there any that you still need to let go of?

See you next time!

This Ain't Texas

4/21/2024

I'm not particularly in love with country music, though there are songs I like. And though I have loved and admired Beyonce since Destiny's Child was on the scene, my reactions to her song, Texas Hold 'Em, and especially to people dancing to it, surprise me.

My Reactions to Texas Hold 'Em

First, watch the beauty of this guy's choreography...

Sometimes I tear up, or can't stop watching it, when I see dance challenge videos for this song.

Now, I will admit that as an empath, it's not that unusual for music to make me cry, especially when I see people dancing and singing their hearts out. But this might be different.

Though it's hard to articulate, I think it has to do with breaking new ground, or reclaiming old ground. For example, I cried at the beginning of her Coachella documentary, Homecoming.

After Beyoncé made history with her song “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s country chart, making her the first Black female artist to ever hold the top spot, she set her eyes on reclaiming the country music genre in a perfectly executed history lesson on the Dark and Shady History of Country Music. - bingeworthy

Texas Hold 'Em: Take that!

Yeah, that might be a motive, as he says in the video below. But I don't think that's what moves me, precisely.

I would say that it's more likely to be pride by association because she is standing up for herself in a big way, but maybe it feels like she's standing up for me, too.

I doubt that she would use the word revenge, but she has said that Act II is partially a response to the way she was treated after her CMA performance of Daddy Lessons with The Chicks.

Anyway, I do love the song, and in case you haven't heard it yet (but where have you been?), here it is...

Sing Along with Texas Hold 'Em

(As I do, whenever I hear it!)

Want to learn the dance?

I'm sitting this one out. My body says,
"this ain't the 80s!" I do miss the old days, when after a decade of jazz dance classes, I probably could have done it.

Learn the Texas Hold 'Em Dance

Did you try it?

Final Thoughts

You know, I think, to me, this is an example of Beyonce using her celebrity for good. Because a lot more people will learn about country music's African/black roots than would have otherwise.

And though I realize that Tik Tok might be able to get people to dance to anything, I think it speaks to me of acceptance, when I see them dancing to Texas Hold 'Em.

What are your thoughts about or reactions to this phenomenon?

See you next time!
