Journal Prompts

(1) As you go through each day, pay attention to your preferences. What would I prefer in this situation?

(2) Listen for what your gut is telling you and then, write it down.

(3) How are you becoming a different version of yourself? And what about that process are you finding uncomfy?

See you next time!

Emotional Self-Care Rituals: 5 Ways to Shift a Bad Mood

8/23/2024

There is a stressful situation I am not yet sure how to resolve. And meanwhile, I am trying to keep the faith that it will work out the way I want it to, and soon.

I've been giving myself encouragement and comfort, but today, in the middle of a store, my mood crashed. And when my mood crashes, it's like Alice in Wonderland falling down the well!

But I didn't want to stay there. And it occurred to me that it would help to have an on-the-spot emotional self-care plan for moments like that.

Sweet Treats & Comfort Food

My first thought was to cheer myself up with a glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Picture

And I did end up grabbing a sweet treat from the grocery store. But I knew I would need more than that, and something more powerful, too, for an ongoing plan.

First & Most Important Step

ASK THIS QUESTION

What percentage of what I am feeling is actually mine?

When I used the Sway test, I discovered that only 35% of what I was feeling actually originated with me!

So if you are an empath, never forget to ask that question. And then clear away the negative energy that doesn't belong to you.

Awfulizer Thoughts

If negative thinking has contributed to your mood, talk back to yourself and tell yourself the truth.

My thinking was along the lines of "this is never going to work out, it's always like this, why is my life this way?," etc.

So you can gently and lovingly remind yourself of when your experiences were different and better. And ask yourself for awfulizers if there is anyway you can be 100% sure that the pronouncement you just made is true.

Picture

Meditate with Crystals
& Self-Love

Get cozy, make yourself a cup of tea, and meditate with soothing music, or go out in nature, and steep yourself in your own self-love.

What I did was sit in front of my light box, hold two crystals - lepidolite and garnet - and then closed my eyes and connected with my loving goddess self. That helped a lot!

I could still faintly and vaguely feel my worry in the background, and I was sad because I also didn't feel well. So I stayed in the self-love energy and divinity frequency until I began to feel even better.

Expect Guidance

There is something about stillness and self-love that makes me feel safe and hopeful. Plus, it's a moment out of time.

I find myself praying and sharing my thoughts and feelings, and then often downloads of guidance begin to happen. Because of that, I changed my mind about something I had planned.

The main thing is to be gentle with yourself and create a plan you will find comforting and soothing so that it's easy to put into place when your mood goes south.

The Prompt I Fed to Claude.ai

My biggest self-care challenge is finding or creating simple, spiritual self-care practices that make me feel magical and delight me. Based on my self-care challenge, generate a personalized 30-day self-care action plan that includes daily micro-habits and weekly reflections to help me overcome this obstacle and integrate self-care into my spiritual journey. Provide specific examples of self-care practices that can be easily incorporated into my busy life at home.

I opened an email from Amy Yamada with The Power of Self-Care in the title, and read about how not prioritizing self-care can hold us back as entrepreneurs. At the end of the email, she suggested a prompt a lot like this one, though I personalized it for myself.

Are you wondering what Claude came up with for me? Keep reading...

Full Moon in Aquarius

8/19/2024

If you've been hanging on to a persona that has been kinda getting you by, you're gonna get a lot of calls to let that go. Where are you not allowed to be yourself?... Sarah Vrba
Picture

In this month of letting go, where it may feel like things are being taken away from us, this full moon is about letting go of limiting beliefs about who you are and coming out of hiding. It's about who and how we should be giving way to who and how we really are.

(1) What would that process look like in your life?

(2) How can you express yourself and be seen in the most authentic way possible?

(3) In what way would being your real self, unedited, feel like you're getting away with something? Follow that thought (Sarah Vrba, slightly paraphrased.)

The collective consciousness influences societal norms and group dynamics, including how we treat one another, who leads the collective, and who changes the rules that govern all of us. Although Aquarius governs everything having to do with society and coming together to form societal structures, it also values individuality and helps us break the structure of society through rebellious acts that challenge the status quo. - Jill Wintersteen, founder of the Spirit Daughter platform, writing in YogaJournal.com

Radical Self-Acceptance

In the video below, she also talks about radical self-acceptance. And she asks how you can see what is different about you, as really beautiful.

She even mentioned having a body that doesn't work the way most bodies do. And that's something that just came up for me again last night.

I have one roommate who is tired of having to move things around because those things are in common areas and they are making me sick. I have multiple chemical sensitivities, so that is not an unusual experience for me.

And I understand why she was annoyed, but what I want to avoid doing is refusing to accept myself, or shaming myself in any way, because of it.

I have another roommate who thinks I am weird because I spend a lot of time sitting in front of my light box. She says things like, "if it makes you happy...," but what I think she is implying is that it's all in my head.

Which is halfway right. Depression does start in the head, but it certainly affects the body in powerful ways.

Anyway, I can clear the negative impact of the energy people send my way. But what am I telling myself? What am I thinking about myself?

Is it okay to be me, or not?

That's the real question. And this full moon is asking us to let that crap go, if our answer is no.

Watch her video below. It's so good for what we talk about here!

How is this Letting Go Month Going for You?

How's it been going for you this month? Letting go is hard!

I just recently had food poisoning and if that's not purging, I don't know what is. So for me, letting go has not just been mental & emotional, it's also been physical.

Tell me how it's been for you. And hang in there!

No matter how difficult it feels, keep in mind that this is an ascension experience and it's actually a good thing. There is freedom on the other side.

Love you guys!

I Quit! And Maybe You Should, too

I did an intuitive reading during the Lion's Gate Portal and was hit with unexpected guidance that, for now, changes everything. And in a recent newsletter, from Dre Beltami (a cool brand archetype expert), we were challenged to show our underbellies and tell the truth in our blogs or on social media, in a way that defies the typical advice we receive as online entrepreneurs.

I've decided to take that challenge, and share exactly what's happening. So keep reading...

Your light and your truth were always there and you may not feel it now but you are stepping into a far higher version of you than what you ever dreamed possible. - Kerry K.

Stop Right There!

I've been feeling a little aimless. Directionless.

And even when I thought I had moments of clarity, and got excited about an idea, within days, I was feeling unsure again.

So I decided to do an intuitive reading. I hoped that the Lion's Gate Portal energy would provide me with the clarity I needed.

Well, the message of one of the cards I pulled was certainly clear!

It said that I was going in the wrong direction and needed to stop what I was doing, and basically, catch up to myself. The advice was to get clear on who I am now and who I am becoming before proceeding.

And I understood that the next steps would turn out to be different than I expected.

So I do not yet know what is next. But now, I know that I am meant to wait for wisdom and clarity.

Truth: I Really Don't Know
What the Hell I'm Doing

I am all over the place! I have SO many ideas.

So many ways I want to help. And they all fall under the heading of empowering healers and lightworkers.

Because I have a chronic illness, the plan I have been following is to create and sell digital products. And I now have A LOT of digital products to offer.

But I'm not exactly selling them. And you don't know what they are. Because I keep changing my mind and moving on to the next thing.

So I decided to take a walk through the last 8 months of Canva to see what I've created...

a 30-Day Inner Goddess Planner
an Inner Goddess Journal & Affirmations
a Guided Inner Goddess Meditations
an Inner Goddess Ritual Checklists Workbook
a Mindful Morning Ritual Planner
The Sacred Self eBook
a Manifestation Planner
a Manifestation Journal
Manifesting Happiness Affirmation Cards
The Self-Compassion Workbook
The Self-Love Quiz & eBook
Guided Self-Love Meditations
a Shadow Self Mini Course
a 30-Day Shadow Self Journal
a 7 Days of Cozy Rituals Mini Course
New Moon Journal: Become Your Divine Self
a New Moon Affirmation Card Deck
aLetting Go with the Full Moon Card Deck
The Self-Soothing Journal
The 7-Day Hygge Self-Care Ritual Challenge
The Hygge Morning Ritual eBook
The Slow Living eBook
a Divine Self Archetype Quiz
The Mindful Healer (Bundle of eBooks & journals)
a Mindful Morning Affirmations Card Deck
The Teapot Journal & Card Deck
an Ocean Mindfulness Coloring Book

If I counted correctly, I created 27 digital products this year, right? I had no idea I had that many sitting in my Canva account.

Now, most of these began their lives as templates or done-for-you products. And that's what made it so much easier to create them!

I'd switch out the colors and either rewrite them on the spot or in a document and transfer it afterward. In some ways, it felt like my way of creating art.

But I also felt like I was creating the possibility of transformation with each one.

It makes me wonder if I should create some kind of online store. It felt kind of exciting to look through them & find so many, as I wrote this post.

Truth: Traditional Marketing Advice Hasn't Helped as Much as I Thought it Would

Maybe part of the wrong direction, from the reading, was trying to choose only a few products to focus on?

They tell you to niche and create a funnel. And many suggest creating your funnel around a freebie and then, an online course, with a sort of high-end program as a final step, that makes you tons of money because it costs so much.

But maybe that's not the way I am meant to do it?

Truth: I've Been Neglecting
My Own Spiritual Self-Care

It's been quite a while since I did a spiritual self-care ritual.

I am still coming to terms with what happens now when I meditate - I come face to face with myself - so lately, I haven't been doing it every day and when I do, it's not always for very long.

On the other hand, I do prioritize grounding moments throughout the day and I do connect with my inner self. But the gap between what I do and what I think I should be doing each day (which is also what I espouse) is bigger than I want to admit.

I do make myself sit still, be present and allow whatever I'm thinking and feeling to surface. But I think I should do that every day and for quite a bit longer than 5 or 10 minutes.

Truth: It's not Just the Negative Moments I Avoid

The other day I led my roommate in a very quick, on-the-spot portal meditation and we both felt it rather powerfully. I felt electric for a good while after that.

And that made me nervous.

I think I avoid my power and intuition, too, not just the negative thoughts and feelings. So that's probably another way I am going in the wrong direction.

So one good thing that might come from stopping the merry-go-round is more time and energy for spiritual self-care. Hearing my own wisdom might get easier, too?

If it does, I'll let you know, because my intention is to keep writing about how things are going.

Truth: Sometimes, this is What
Meditating & Healing are Like

The truth is that there are times when you cannot  create an only-positive ritual experience, even when you make it cozy...

Picture this: you've just had a delicious cup of tea, or most of it, and you feel warm and cozy. You do a grounding exercise and you love how centered it makes you feel.

But then, a feeling of discomfort reminds you that you need to stop putting so much creamer in your tea, no matter how good it tastes because the dairy is not your closest friend. Thinking about makes you feel sad and a little defeated.

So you soldier on to the meditation and healing, rearranging your throw before you begin, so it covers you better. And you're meditating.

Trying to connect with your divine self... you start by closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing. The rest of the world begins to drift away and you feel yourself connecting.

But five minutes later, you realize you've lost it completely and are mentally composing your next blog post. How and when did that happen?

You go back to your breathing and you reconnect. But then feelings surface about an issue you know needs to heal.

You offer it to your light and your divinity, and you grab your danburite, a crystal that soothes as it helps with letting go.

But on this day, the anger or the sadness aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. You give yourself love and acceptance, and then sit with your feelings for a while.

But then you get tired of it. You don't like feeling that way.

So you look at the clock, start thinking of the things you need to do, and decide to try again tomorrow.

                     ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Note: guided meditations are likely to have fewer unpleasant interruptions. And you also can guide your experiences to some extent by adding influences.

Your roll-on fairy blend of sweet orange and vanilla, that deepens both joy and relaxation. The ocean wave sounds that engender peace.

Your obsidian crystal that dissolves negativity. The yummy-smelling candle that delights you every time you get a whiff of it.

But the truth is, that experience described above is actually a good one, because you're connecting to your truth. I've been told that the goal is a kind of sacred neutrality that accepts every experience without judgment.

I do not have that ability at this time. :)

And here's the deep truth - I don't want it, even though I think I might oughta have it. (Picture the upside down emoji here).

What Do You Think?

As you've taken this journey into truth with me, what thoughts have you had about yourself? Think about what resonated with you.

Did you see any stop or warning signs? For example, the awareness that you've been growing and healing so much and so rapidly, that you might need a break so you can catch up with yourself?

And do you have any hidden truths you'd like to share with the class? ;)

See you next time!

love, Jeanine

August: Letting Go with the Lion's Gate Portal

8/8/2024

This is a time to let go of the past and welcome new beginnings. The Lion's Gate Portal offers a powerful opportunity for personal growth and spiritual awakening, helping you align with the universe's energy and turn your dreams into reality. - Lion's Gate Portal article.

Each month, Kerry K. creates a video sharing her intuitive guidance about what lightworkers and healers, and often, humanity in general, can expect to encounter in the spiritually or energetically. I was particularly struck by what she said in her video this month and I want to share some of my own thoughts about how to respond, and maybe inspire your own.

But today, I also am celebrating The Lion's Gate and if you are reading this on or near the 8th of August, make a wish for whatever you want to let go of and whatever you dream of manifesting in your life.

Picture
This is a personal month, where you will feel personally challenged to let go. For some you will feel like you have no choice and rather than letting go, it's going to feel that something is being taken away. It's only temporary, once the release happens the relief happens and healing sets in, rippling into the rest of your life. - Kerry K.

Your Soul's Plan for August

According to some spiritual teachers, we healers often do work on the spiritual level (maybe while we are asleep) that we are not aware of consciously. I believe that, and I think we are far more connected as a collective than we might think we are.

Kerry made reference to this in her video and said that as a collective, our souls came up with two plans for August that, if we can do them on the individual level, could have a big impact on humanity.

(1) One is about letting go of something that has been a challenge for you. Part of you may resist or try to hang on to whatever the issue is for you.

Hey! I wasn't done with that yet.

But if we can remain open to it, the freedom we experience as a result will be powerful. And it will affect every other part of our lives.

What do you need to let go of, that has been an ongoing challenge for you?

(2) The other shift is about taking your power back and steeping into it fully. That empowerment will be offered to humanity as a whole, but we can help by doing the alchemy in our own lives.

She asked us to consider this question: where am I disempowering myself?

Wherever that is for you, if you can take your power back, you are likely to experience a peace that not only affects you, but has an impact on those around you and humanity as a whole.

In order to create the empowerment we are now being called to, we each will have to let go of something that used to make us feel safe. What is that for you?

Part of what I just said - letting go of something that used to make you feel safe - is a quote in a book by Darla LeDoux.

So what shall we do, to help ourselves this month?

Fear is the Common Denominator

It is fear (or the desire to feel safe) that makes us cling to something that isn't good for us and fear that makes us give our power away. So let's take a look at the plan I've cooked up for us. :)

4 Questions, 1 Visualization
& 2 Hygge Tea Rituals

Mornings: During your morning tea ritual, I want you to sip and reflect on this question: what can I do today to feel safe and grounded?

Evenings: I want you to make a cup of tea each evening that you can, for the rest of this month, and ask yourself the following questions...

(1) What am I being called to let go of this month?

(2) How am I disempowering myself?

(3) How did fear show up today?

The Visualization: pause for a moment throughout the day and notice your breathing. After a few breaths, imagine that you are surrounded by warmth, coziness and love.

Picture them emanating from a warm glowing light within your heart. Now, imagine that that light is expanding until it both fills you and surrounds you.

Notice that it doesn't stop at the ground or floor, but continues into the earth and travels all the way to the earth's core, grounding you and anchoring you in safety.

~*~*~*~

Wondering when you'll find time for the visualization? Tie it to something you do several times a day - going to the bathroom. :)

Chakra Healing to Help You
Let Go & Feel Safe

Because fear is often the reason we hang onto the things we need to let go of, I believe that finding new ways to feel safe in every area of our lives needs to be part of our ongoing game plan. And heading into fall, you may want to consider practices that continue the work in a deeper way.

For example, with chakra healing. It's a mind-body-soul practice that can be life-changing as you let go, nurture, heal and empower your life.

But I suggest a slightly different focus. As you work on balancing and healing your chakras, bring safety to each one, not just the root chakra.

And empower each one, not just the solar plexus.

So you want to make it safe to trust yourself and your life, to be creative, to take back your power, to open your heart, to find your voice and your purpose, to listen to your intuition and to connect to your own divinity and to Spirit. And when you feel safe to take back your power, you'll do it in each of those ways.

Watch this website and stay tuned. I'm putting together a chakra healing resource for you that will include meditations to help you feel safe. When it's ready, I'll link to it above.

My Own Healing Intentions

There are several areas where I have been challenged in big ways, and I would welcome freedom in any of them. My relationship with money is one I mentioned last week, but I would also like to let go of limiting beliefs around power, agency and what I am capable of creating in my life.

And that would be right on time, because empowerment was one of the things she mentioned.

Dare I intend healing in more than one area? I'm going to need more rest!

But returning to the chakras and creating safety will make it easier.

My wish for the Lion's Gate Portal is that it returns me to my memory of who I am (the infinite me) and deepens my access to my wisdom and abilities. I also believe it will align me with how the spiritual rescue mission we healers and lightworkers all are on is meant to play out in my life, specifically.

Wishing you powerful magic as you step into the portal today!

Uncover Limiting Beliefs: 3 Steps to Find Your Truth & Break Free from Hidden Rules

8/1/2024

Whether you believe you've been programmed by a society gone wrong, by a handful of people who run the world while no one's looking, by dark forces who created a simulated world that might feel free but is actually a prison, by a fallen angel in a desperate fight to win the universe or all of the above, you probably know you have limiting beliefs. And that finding your truth won't feel as easy as 1-2-3.

Picture

Finding My Truth

It all started with money.

And boy, what a long and winding road that was! I was trying to decide whether or not to order a $27 orange lipstick, plus two other amazing finds - a long orange robe that snaps closed and warm green, long nightshirt that together, cost over $50.

I don't believe I've ever seen an orange robe before, and most green sleepwear I find is cool in coloring. I've been waiting to buy that lipstick again for about 6 years now - exactly how long I've been poor.

But things are better now. Doesn't mean I can just throw money around, willy nilly, though. ;)

Anyway, ultimately, I have decided to buy them.

But first, I decided to go looking for the hidden rules, hidden feelings and hidden meaning around spending money, and then to try to disentangle all that baggage. Five or six pages later, I knew a lot more about the programming I've experienced in all areas of my life, and I came to understand just how complicated most simple decisions actually are.

Why does the lipstick matter so much to me, I wondered.

And immediately, what I saw in my mind was my mother getting ready to go out for the evening. She and my father were both dressed up in very fancy clothes and the last thing my mother did before they left, was put on her lipstick.

She dressed rather conservatively, in classic style, but when she put on lipstick, she put it on!

Now, on to the robe and nightshirt...

At this stage of my life, my loungewear is sleepwear. As long as I am covered, I don't mind answering the door in a robe.

But do I really need to buy the robe in my favorite color, so I can wear that, instead of this grey mess I've been wearing for the past 2 years? Hmm.

It often brings me tears, to think about my mother, because I miss her so much. But again, as I considered that question, I remembered her.

Even when she had cancer, my son and I would go to her house, to find her fully dressed, in jeans, sneakers, a t-shirt and her favorite robe, for warmth. During at least one stint in the hospital, she wore that robe over their nightgown.

Picture

As I was remembering her, I was writing down rules in my journal...

When you're about to go somewhere and you want to look presentable, wear your best colors, a style that flatters you, and makeup. Too tired to bother with all that? At least put on lipstick.

It's important to get dressed every day. Or at least look presentable. You never know who might show up at your door.

Identity includes the colors you choose, the clothes and jewelry you wear, the way you decorate your home and what color and style everything is within it.

If you've "made it," you are getting paid to do what you love, you can afford to buy whatever you want, you're living in a home you've decorated well, that has a view you love, you're driving the car you want and can easily afford to do the things that matter to you.

By the time I was a few more pages in, I had discovered that (apparently) I don't really deserve good things, that life never quite works out and uncovered a double bind that encourages me to never give up because that's admirable and to always give up because nothing will ever work out.

I'd also discovered that ascension and spirituality both have rules and standards, too, according to my beliefs, and I am probably not going to get an A in either one.

Now, my favorite "rules" are ones I am not sure I will let go of because they feel so much like me.

Aim for liking what you see in the mirror. It's your opinion that matters most.

Wear the colors you love, even if you're just hanging out at home, because they make you happy.

By the time I got to page six, I was very eager to break up with some of these rules! Especially the painful ones. But I might hang onto the ones above.

Now, let's look at how you can begin finding your truth...

3 Ways to Find Your Truth

Come along on this journey with me. We won't have all the answers in place by the end of the post, but once you step onto the path, it will only go forward into opening up more truth.

Make a cup of tea and then, grab your journal, in case you want to write everything down and get back to it later.

Here are the three steps we'll take together...

(1) Question Everything

(2) Listen for What Your Heart Thinks

(3) Tell Yourself the Truth

Picture

(1) Question Everything

It's Time to Uncover the Hidden Rules
You May not Know You're Following

Now for this one, you don't need the extravaganza my exploration turned into the other day. Just begin with any area of your life where you think something funky might be going on!

If you've tried to make changes unsuccessfully, or feel yourself gravitating again toward choices that concern you, start looking for the hidden rules you might be following. What did you learn as you were growing up, that might be running the show?

Jot down all the rules or limiting beliefs that come to mind as you explore this area of your life. Keep going until you feel you've uncovered everything connected to that part of your life.

As you're doing this, you're actually asking yourself two powerful questions without even realizing it: 'Is this really true?' and 'Do I actually want this rule or belief guiding my life?

(2) The Heart Alchemy Process: Connect to Your Heart's Wisdom

Get Quiet and Still and Drop Your Energy
and Focus Down into Your Heart

Picture

Imagine a warm, glowing light softly touching the top of your head, before it begins to travel gently from your head to your throat and then down into your heart. Once it's there, notice it getting brighter and warmer.

Feel it open you up to the love you have inside you and to the love that's all around you. Pause in this moment until you begin to feel it, then ask that love to expand and deepen.

Know that you can trust your heart and the divine, to connect you to your truth. To the truth of who you are, to the wisdom that you already know, and to your own clear path forward.

When you're ready, one by one, begin to offer your heart the questions, stories, rules and feelings you've unearthed. Your heart and your inner light, will know how to sort and heal and resolve them.

Don't push for words.

And ask your heart to show you the light on your forehead if you mistakenly abandon it and travel north back to your mind for its conditioned wisdom. If that happens, bring the light back down to your heart and stay there with it.

Sit quietly, and watch or feel your heart do its work, until it signals you that it's finished for now.

You can then begin returning your energy to the room you're in and reconnect to its sights and sounds. Give yourself a gentle stretch or two, not just to return more fully, but also to embody the magic and healing you've just experienced.

You can return to the heart alchemy process again and again, whenever you need it.

(3) Tell Yourself the Truth

With Love, Warmth, Laughter & Gentleness, Start Telling Yourself the Truth

You may now feel that some things are resolved. But unfortunately, your programmed mind, and whatever or whoever else might be trying to hold you back, will offer you plenty of chances to return to the conditioning, the hidden rules and the old stories you uncovered.

When it does, or they do, shower yourself with love. And tell yourself the truth.

For example, my heart reminded me, after the heart alchemy process was over, that I absolutely deserve happiness, but that I'm in choppy waters if I am wanting to buy it.

So I reminded myself of other ways I have exchanged a negative feeling for a positive one without spending money. And I no longer feel so emotionally attached to either of those spending choices, so it's easy to think more clearly about them.

YOU DID IT! How Did it Go?

Even if your world didn't completely set itself to rights (mine, either), notice if you feel clearer, or lighter. Or more empowered.

Did you find your truth?

Or some, if not all of it, yet? Know that you're on the path now, and from here, it can only get better.

Love you!
