Becoming Real: Getting Clear about the Spiritual Awakening Process

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about identity, false self and true self, and the journey of becoming authentic. And sometimes, I publish a post, or a series of them, and wonder if I said everything.

Was I clear about this thing? Did I forget to mention that other thing?

So, in this post, I want to clarify something.

In past posts I talked a lot about the difference between the “false self” and the “divine self.” It may have sounded like this inner tug-of-war is just a lightworker thing.
​

But Everyone Experiences it,
​not just Lightworkers

We are all physical bodies contained within a field of energy that comprises the soul, or divine self. That energy field has your own unique energy signature and frequency. 

But until someone awakens, they have no idea who they really are.

Here's what happens...

We get conned by the world we live in and the programming we receive in our families into seeing ourselves as small. We create a personality (some people call it the ego) based on this limited view, and that's who we think we are.

But it's built on a lie. We spend years, sometimes lifetimes, acting out a part written by someone else, believing that it’s our true identity.

What we experience as reality is created by who we are inside and what we think and believe. So this identity gets reinforced as true and becomes part of the agreed-upon reality we’re all contributing to in this world.

But that implies that when we remember who we are and believe it, our experience of reality will change in ways that will be reinforced by what we experience.

So What's Different for Lightworkers?

Lightworkers have started to remember that they are here on assignment, having made the choice to come here to help humanity ascend. It starts as an internal mission, to become real.

But when we do that, we become lighthouses for others and our presence and energy frequency helps other people start to remember who they are, too. 

It’s unfolding all around us, just under the surface. More people are waking up every day, even if the world’s current chaos makes that seem impossible.

There’s a spiritual awakening process that everyone experiences. 

Once we begin to awaken, we become aware of the difference between who we thought we were and who we really are. 

Awakening is When the
Real Work Begins

When we awaken, we realize that nothing is as it seemed, and that there is a truth about who we are, where we come from, and why we're here that we've never known before. But we've been so tied emotionally to our stories, to the pain we've experienced, to the hopes and dreams built entirely around who we thought we were, that letting go is difficult.

Making that choice is where rewriting your story begins. No one will want to keep living the lie once they know the truth.

Living in human bodies, we are not likely to completely let go of our personalities. 

But we can shift into a higher frequency that makes it possible to live as our true selves most of the time.

Just know that there will likely still be a tug between the familiar ego mask and the part of you that’s ready to step into something bigger.

Choosing your real self will bring you peace, joy, freedom and relief. That’s what I want for you.
 
But to get there, you’ll need to live without the masks, and allow authenticity and trust to replace the limiting beliefs, the old stories and the fear that’s kept you playing small. Lightworkers continue to choose awakening, even when it feels messy or the process seems slow. 

And unfortunately, those who don’t awaken may never experience the wonder of discovering that there’s another way.

Here's What to Do Next?

​Pause for a moment. Take a breath.

And ask yourself what story you’re believing about who you are. Where did that story come from? 

​If you know it’s not the truth, breathe again and wait for something more honest to show up. You don’t ever have to let an old story define you.

Try this. Put your hand over your heart and close your eyes. Breathe in slowly. 

Imagine you’re surrounded by a wise, loving presence. Maybe an ancestor, maybe your guides, or maybe just the feeling of love. 

Let that warmth settle in your chest. Feel the truth, and your own light, within.

You are always one breath away from coming home to yourself. Every time you put down an old mask, you access a little more light.
