I want to say thank you for sharing this first month of the new year with me. It's my wish that this year turns out to be your happiest and best, and I hope it will be filled with comfort and all things cozy.

But before I go, I want to have a conversation with you about letting go...

One Ritual. 17 Affirmations.
And 3 Journal Prompts

What do you need to let go of today?

I think it could be said that grief and letting go are intrinsic to our everyday lives, and that our capacity for joy increases every time we love ourselves enough to release something that was weighing us down. In fact, whatever you're not letting go of is not only stealing your joy, but wearing you out, one way or another.

Would you like some help with letting go in a way that's gentle and comforting?

I don't know about you, but that's the only way I am willing to do it. It's way too hard, otherwise.

I created a template you can use for creating a comfort-centered letting go ritual. And all month, I've felt it needed tweaking, so I've added  some affirmations you can try and a few journal prompts to get you started.

Once you reach out for it, you'll receive any other updates I create in the future.

For example, I often think of things to let go of while I am on the go, so I do a brief visualization, hand over heart, and then move on with my day. I'm thinking about writing that down & adding it to the pot.

How do you respond to your grief?

Here's the link again: letting go ritual

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

Another month gone and I enjoyed your blogs Jeanine and your tips. I'm still working on how to respond to grief since I can't let go.

Thanks, Martha!! You know, I think that with grief, letting go is a gradual process. But not only that, there are some things you won't actually let go of at all. For example, when you've lost someone, the relationship you have with that person doesn't die, and you can't really "let go" of that, and why would anyone want to? And I think with big losses, coping and creating comfort are the first steps. Thinking about my mother, one of the things I have let go of is my resistance to those sudden moments of pain and loss that come out of nowhere. But even that has taken me years. It's all a process!

This post really spoke to me—your reflections on learning to “let it go” are so beautifully written and relatable. I love how you captured the powerful connection between mindfulness and creativity.

Yes! It was great to share the month with you, Tamara. And you are so welcome. I hope so. It's my intention to be right back here in April.

Jeanine, I love the whole approach of your work: gentleness, kind relaxation, comfort, hygge environments. Your graphics are the same: gentle. I am not surprised to learn you were a counselor-- I was guessing a social worker. I treasure your work and I treasure knowing you. Thanks for your gentle, thoughtful, supportive posts this month. "See" you on Facebook and in the next UBC. <3

I love your little ritual of hand on heart for release, and bringing calm! I've been enjoying doing reiki more consciously after the last class I offered in the fall, and an easy alternative is hand/s over belly (Dan tien or hara) which also helps center me!
Thank you for your posts - always sweet to connect ❤️
See you soon

Nadya, I'm so sorry that I'm just now seeing your comment! Thanks. I like to do both, too. Hand over heart and the other one on my belly.
