We've been conditioned to think that living peacefully requires big changes or grand experiences. A weekend retreat. An hour of meditation every day. A complete life overhaul. But actually, some of the most powerful healing can happen in the smallest moments. And I have discovered that peace isn't something we have to chase (which I've been doing all my life), but something we can find in between breaths. I feel peaceful every time I am still, and I practice stillness every day. The shift I'd like to make next is to remember (more often) the peaceful moments during ones that are less so, because then I'll know they can return with a pause for stillness and a deep breath. What is your experience when it comes to everyday moments of peace? The Magic of Everyday MomentsYou don't need a meditation room or an hour of uninterrupted time to find peace. Micro-moments of comfort can happen... while preparing your tea while sipping and holding your tea while you pause to breathe deeply while looking at the trees through your window while feeling into the space around you while visualizing the day you want to have while you curl up under a blanket or throw while watching a movie or reading a book The key is to be aware and open to receiving during those moments. Simple Ways to Access PeaceHere are several things to try, mindfully, to experience moments of peace... (1) Place your hand on your heart and take a breath. (2) Feel your feet connecting with the ground. (3) Notice the texture of whatever you're touching. (4) Look out the window and find something beautiful. (5) Whisper a two-word prayer and try breathing into it: "I'm peaceful" or "I'm safe." Take a moment to try one or two of those ideas now. When Life Feels OverwhelmingIn those moments that feel like too much, or when you need more support... let your shoulders drop whisper the word "peace" feel the support of whatever is holding you Peace lives in the small moments, in the gentle pauses, in the quiet spaces between everything else. Your sensitivity allows you to find these moments more easily than others do. Isn't that beautiful? I'm really grateful that's true. What do you think? Can you tell from reading this post that finding peace might be more simple than you've been led to believe? See you next time! Your words are so soothing and inspiring! I love the idea of creating a "comfort apothecary"—it’s such a beautiful way to find peace in small moments. Healing through simple rituals like journaling and mindful breathing really resonates with me.

What a beautiful message today Jeanine. I find the most peace in my backyard. I watch the birds that seems to know the perfect time to stop and sit on the fence line or feeders. I also get peace just through memories that pop in my head. Like you mentioned peace is in the small moments and I treasure them every day.

Yes, as they say, it's the simple pleasures. And small moments add up to bigger ones. But when Life is not peaceful, it also helps to have a plan for what will help you shift back into peace.
