I Already Know My Future Self

I think I met my future self more than thirty years ago.

It was sometime in the early 1990s, I think. I had an appointment with a woman who sat behind a desk, and if I remember correctly, she handed me a bag filled with things she had chosen for me.

I don’t remember what was in the bag. But for some reason, I never forgot the woman.

And for over 30 years, I’ve had a similar image in my mind of sitting with a client, listening to what she was going through, and then walking over to a bookcase filled with jars and containers and choosing exactly what she needed.

I never knew quite what was in the jars.

But now, more than 30 years later, I'm beginning to figure that out.

I had spent more than thirty years trying to learn enough to become her.

One more book. One more training. One more certification. One more system created by someone who knew more than I did.

But every system felt incomplete.

And now I’m wondering if that was because I was trying to find someone else’s version of the woman I had already seen.

You have no idea how long I've been working on becoming my future self. And I can't believe I already know her.

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

Our future selves are definitely in the making every day! I am curious though: what could have been in the bag back then?

I think you're right, they are! I think maybe it was cosmetics, actually. But what captured me, I think, was that we talked, she asked questions and then knew exactly what to get for me. It translated into a sort of medicine woman idea to me.

I'm curious about what was in the bag too!

I love the look of your blog!

Thank you so much, Anna! I think it was cosmetics and I suspect they probably would get rid of blemishes and may have had light anti-aging properties.

I wish I could meet my future self. I’m sure it would impact how I live my life today. I know if I had of met my now self back when my kids were little, I probably wouldn’t be sweating all the small stuff then.

Very interesting!

Excellent point! Well, I watched a training not that long ago where the guy remembered that he'd been in an accident but he couldn't remember the moment of the collision. So he tried to see the scene in his mind from another vantage point - like he mentally placed the camera somewhere else. But he realized he could also see another version of himself watching and he thought he saw an angel, too. So he challenged us to try it - to pick a time from the past and widen the camera lens to see who was with us in that moment. I've done that exercise a few times since then and I always look for my future self.

I love the thought that perhaps you weren’t trying to find your future self all those years, Jeanine. You had already recognised her. There is something so powerful about realising that we may not need another person’s system, but permission to trust our own. I spent years disconnected from my "real self", trying to rescue the Dani I used to be. It took a few years of therapy and lots of journaling and trusting the right people in my life - including myself - to realise that the "today Dani" is the one I like best. ☺️

Oh, I love that, Dani! I've come to that, too. That I might wish I could go back, but then i'd lose this "me" and be stuck with another one, LOL! But I've been experimenting with calling back the parts of myself that I miss. Like the one who trusted that the future held something good. Or the one who had more enthusiasm for daily life.

Jeanine, wow, we're really going deep today! :-) My soul is prone to remote viewing and time traveling. I guess I haven't put much focus on viewing my future self (along which timeline?) beyond several years from the Nows I have been experiencing. I know more about me from past lives than from future timelines. How wonderful you met this woman who helped anchor you to your future path! And your images of you, and your website generally, are very beautiful.

I don't think about or worry about my future self. I'm happy living each day as it comes. Is this a bad thing?
