My New Year's Wishes for You

1/2/2025

On the other side of the life you are trying to keep together, on the other side of the pain you think will never dissolve into peace, on the other side of everything you are forcing-is the life that is waiting. The life that is gently asking you to let go and see it. The life that's been waiting, all this time, for you to arrive. - Brianna Wiest

It might surprise you to hear that when I look ahead to what I want for the year to come, I think about you, too.

I wish for you, in addition to the wishes I make for myself and my own life. I think about what I hope you will experience, what I hope will change for you. How you might blossom into the truest you and live into the life you want most.

All in one magical, wonderful new year! A time filled with possibility.

It's not unattainable resolutions that are important, it's opening your heart to your own magic and possibility.

That doesn't mean you won't also have an eyes-wide-open awareness of negativity that might come your way. And it doesn't mean pretending you won't have the ongoing challenges you already experience, like grief or chronic illness or depression and anxiety.

What it does mean is letting yourself dream of how good it could get, in spite of or in addition to whatever else you experience, and musing about what that would mean for you.

You have more say over what goes on inside of you. For that reason, I highly recommend including how you want to feel, how you want to see yourself or someone else, how you want to experience time, etc. throughout the day. - Amber Krys, AmberKrys.com

Wish One: Day Dreaming

What I mean by day dreaming is what Amber Krys suggests in the quote above: starting each day by thinking about and feeling about the day you want to have. And I am in love with the ideas she suggests.

I already have a practice each day of asking how I want the day to feel and what I want both to do and to experience that day.

To that, I want to add the questions about how I want to see myself and others. And maybe how I want to feel about life, in general.

And Amber Krys suggests a follow-up step that I have tried before (on Christmas day, even) and I can tell you it works.

Think of music that you know will make you feel the way you want to and listen to it! For bonus points, move your body at the same time. Now you're cooking with gas.

Take a moment to try a little day dreaming now, and ask yourself those questions, first about your year, and then about your day today.

And then, guess what. I do also want you to daydream - and imagine those thoughts, feelings and experiences, perhaps while listening to music.

Here's the thing: if you try it, you're so much more likely to get what you want than if you don't.

Wish Two: A Year of
Comfort & Joy

Just as I mentioned yesterday, I'm thinking about comfort and joy for 2025, but wishing it for you, too.

What if we could take the moments of joy we experience during the holiday season and multiply them exponentially, so we could sprinkle them throughout the next year? And what if we had a treasure chest of comfort we could draw from all year long?

Take a moment now to think about what you would put in your treasure chest.

These are the ideas I want to look at this month. Dreaming up and then crafting your day, each day. And filling your treasure chest with ways to experience comfort.

But I'm taking weekends off, so I won't see you again until Tuesday, probably.

Have a wonderful weekend!

love, Jeanine

Visualising is such a powerful and effective tool!
What an assignment... Thinking of things to put into my joy treasure chest! I'll think about that! Christmas lights, for starters.
PS: What do you mean "see you on Tuesday"? Today is only Thursday. Is your weekend Friday through Monday?

Thanks! And an absolute YES to Christmas lights. Um, yes, she says with glee! I am taking long weekends all month long. I am determined to rest and sink into stillness, but if I don't set it up to do so, the month will go by busy as ever.

My wishes are filled with memories that will some day come true when I meet my love once again. But I'm trying to keep a happy face and be comforted with the memories of the past.

My heart is with you, Martha! Yes, it is too much to reach for actual happiness, I imagine. But comfort may be possible, with your memories and beyond them. Think of all the things that comfort you and try to gradually add them to your day.

I've always told my children the day is what you make it. We can't control what happens, but we can determine how we will respond and how long we will let if bother our mood.

Good point, Gracelynne! And the good thing is, that we can start again in any moment.

You're welcome, Barb! Thanks. I find it very helpful. The Affirmation or intention are just the start, for me.

I smiled so widely when I read your first quote, I just started Brianna's The Pivot Year yesterday! For the past 4 years, a friend and I work through daily books like this and share our insights with each other each day. I'm thankful for your insights too and the inspiration to find joy today!

Oh neat! I will have to check that out. I actually found her quote while searching for a different but similar one.

This is such a beautiful and comforting message to start the year. I love the idea of a joy treasure chest—mine would definitely include music and twinkling fairy lights. Thank you for sharing such heartfelt inspiration!

Yes, those are both great resources to have in a joy treasure chest! You're welcome. I was hoping it might be encouraging or inspiring.

I wish love, peace, and joy in the new year. Visualizing I think is one of the best ways to manifest.

I completely agree! It's essential. And I wish those things for you, too, this year.

For sure, I don't daydream as much as I used to, when I was a kid and I believed that all things were possible. I believed that I would fall madly in love and have my famil and that I would be an astronaut (no I wasn't going to put my family in the rocketship with me!) and, when I wasn't in space, I would be an actress and play all of the funny roles. And when I wasn't doing all of that, I would draw a comic strip.
It's no wonder I don't day dream as much as I did when I was a kid! I think that all of that activity in my day dreams caused me to be very, very tired. Maybe now, I can have more relaxing day dreams! Oh and with a nice soundtrack, suitable for dancing, as well!

The soundtrack is essential!! :) They say that there is a version of us doing each of the things we wanted most to do with our lives. That means that in some parallel life, I am singing and dancing on Broadway. And maybe you are flying around in space.

I think that I went to one of your shows. It was in a different solar system, however. I think that you were on tour at that point!!!
