It's National Wear Pajamas to Work Day! I love this day, even though many days are wear pajamas to work day for me, since I work from home. What about you? I've heard some people who work from home say that they feel more productive if they get up and get dressed, instead of throwing on a robe and staying comfy? How do you feel about it? Because I have a chronic illness, it's a relief to me to not have to get dressed every day. But I love the idea of having outfits to wear at home that are fun and colorful, that feel like pjs. One day I will figure that out. :) See you next time! love, Jeanine

I often say the best part of the day is coming home, removing my contacts and putting on my PJs. I would probably miss that part if I didn't have to get properly dressed for work in the morning. Since I work in IT I am lucky enough to call "properly dressed" jeans and t-shirt.

I'm glad properly dressed can still be comfy for you! That used to be my favorite part of the day, too!! But now, because of chronic illness, coming home and having to change feels like a chore.

I work from home so I have spent many a day working in my pjs. Most days though I do get dressed so I can have that feeling of separation. Since my day job isn't something I enjoy, I like to have something that breaks the day into work and play as the location doesn't change.

Oh, I totally understand that! I'm glad you're able to create that separation.

Properly dressed a good question. PJ's for a job interview - PrideStaff a :"head hunter" has seen that more than once as people are looking for work. Humm how do we change that.?

Well, that's not good. Not sure what can be done about that, but I can see how that might be starting to happen after the pandemic.

I also work from home. If I have meetings I'll get ready as normal, but if they are not till later I'll come down to my office in my work out clothes (like today) to try to get a run in before work or after a couple of first thing in the morning items.

I don't know if workout clothes count as pjs, but I understand wanting to take advantage of whatever time you have. When i used to have a healing practice, I would run to the store or go for a walk between clients, so I back then I dressed casually so I scoot out the door if need be.

I prefer to be comfortable. When I did work I had to wear a uniform that was very uncomfortable. I am glad, those days are over.

When we first started our decorating business, it was in the basement of our house. I always got dressed and ready and so did the kids. We weren't going anywhere but I felt it would seem more like a work environment doing it that way. Now however, I could stay in my PJ's all day which are basically lounging pants so if someone comes over in the afternoon it doesn't look like I just woke up LOL

Yes, I like that, that now you can be wearing comfy pjs but they look like clothes. And I love the idea of pjs all day! You've earned it.

Jeanine, I saw that this was Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day, but as a stress management therapist, I had to write about National Stress Awareness Day. We have obligations. :-) So, I love that you often wear your pajamas to work from home! I need to look nice for 8 am meetings most days, but sometimes I then switch my nice pants for leggings and take off my jewelry. I do love the end of the work day, when I take off my day clothes and put on a long (ankle-length) t-shirt. That becomes a signal for my system to decompress. Thanks for this topic today, Jeanine!

Well, I think it's great that you took one day and I took another. But I want to focus in on what you said about the transition. I love that feeling of getting back into pjs! And that is often what i wear, too - a t-shirt nightgown. But I wear actual pjs when i think there might be people coming over.
