Have You Been Experiencing Election Trauma?


After a tense and divisive election, as a sensitive empath and healer, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by a lot of different emotions - fear, grief, confusion, and a deep sense of uncertainty about the future. 

While it’s important to give yourself plenty of time and space to process your thoughts and feelings, it's important to remember that some of the energy you’re taking in may be thoughts and feelings that are not your own. 

Take time each day to pause, breathe, and check in with yourself. Which thoughts and feelings are truly yours to process, and which ones seem to be in your field but are not actually yours? Be very gentle with yourself in the weeks and months to come. 

This is a time to sink deep into self-care, which may look like quiet reflection, moments of pampering, healing techniques, and/or choosing to limit your news intake. Give yourself plenty of cozy, hibernation time so you can feel like yourself again.

Your light and wisdom are needed now more than ever, but you cannot pour from an empty cup. Tend to yourself first, to prevent overwhelm, find your own peace, and gather the strength you need so you can offer compassion and support to others who are struggling.
