Identity shifting is how we move from the survival self, which is the pesky false identity created by our old stories, to the higher self, who is our true identity. - from my new book, Becoming Your Higher Self
Easing the sting of old stories isn’t easy work. You carry hurts or beliefs that show up again and again, sometimes so quietly you don’t notice them at first.
Maybe you notice a tightness in your chest, or your mind races when something reminds you of the past. That’s your soul telling you that something wants your care. You might feel stuck in old patterns, even though you’d rather move forward.
Some folks say to just let it go, but that always feels unfair, right? If deep hurts could let themselves go, they would have done it already.
The good news is, you don’t have to do it all at once. You can notice the places that feel heavy or raw, the memories that bring a lump to your throat, and treat them with real kindness.
There’s no deadline for healing, and no story is too old for comfort.
If you’re feeling tender today, that’s okay. Sometimes recognizing what needs healing is already half the work. Here’s the truth: what you notice, you can care for, and in time, your stories start to soften too.
